Starting in May 2026, I’m working as an open-source software developer on the Students Developing Software team at UofT, this time on MarkUs.
MarkUs is an open-source assignment submission and automated grading platform used by students, TAs, and instructors across UofT, Waterloo, and other universities. The stack spans Ruby on Rails 8, React 18 with JavaScript, PostgreSQL, Redis with Resque for background jobs, and Docker Compose for local development.
In this role, I participate in weekly Agile team standups, collaborate with team members in git-based workflows, and work across the stack to ship features and improve developer experience on the codebase.
